A Joint Entrance Examination (JEXPO) is being
conducted by the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education, “Kolkata
Karigori Bhavan”, 110 S.N.Banerjee Road, Kolkata-700013 for admission to 1st
year Diploma Courses in 45 Polytechnics in West Bengal. The examination with multiple-choice
objective questions on two papers [Mathematics - 100 marks, 2 hours duration
and Physics & Chemistry - 100 marks, 2 hours duration].
Eligibility: - Applicant(s) must be Indian citizen and should have
passed Madhyamik Examination under West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or
its equivalent Board/Council. Candidates due to appear in the Madhyamik or its
equivalent examination in that year with Mathematics, Physical Science and
English may also apply. Age- 21 years as on 1st January (5 years
relaxation for SC/ST students).
The
Passed out candidates of Vocational streams are admitted in Polytechnics
courses through a special examination called VOCLET.

The
undergraduate program in mass communication is of three year term and comprises
of six semesters. Students after completing 10+2 in any stream with at least 50
percent marks are eligible to opt for this course. But selection is not done on

Indian Institutes of Technology conducts a Joint
Admission test to M.Sc. (JAM) for admission to M.Sc. and other post-B.Sc.
programmes at the IITs.
JECA
is a written entrance test conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance
Examination Board. It is conducted for the admission of students to MCA course
offered by the various institutions in West Bengal. Private Engineering
colleges, Universities, Government colleges and some of the institutes in West
Bengal offer full time MCA course. Eligibility for JECA- i) Candidates
who have cleared their Bachelor’s degree examination are eligible to apply for
the course. ii) Candidates with
statistics or mathematics in their bachelor’s degree are free to apply. Iii) Candidates appearing in their final year
examination (bachelor’s degree) can also seek for admission. iv) There is no age limit for the candidates.

Common
Admission Test (CAT) conducted by the Indian Institutes of Management, XAT
conducted by XLRI Jamshedpur, MAT conducted by AIMA, SNAP Test by Symbiosis,
Pune, NMAT by AIMA for NMIMS, Mumbai and relevant state level, common entrance
test for business schools in various states.

Common
Admission Test is conducted every year by one of the Indian Institute of Managements.
(IIMs). CAT entrance exam is used as a criteria to shortlist applicants for
admissions to the IIMs and some other top management institutes like Management
Development Institute, S.P. Jain Institute, Nirma Institute of Management, T.A.
PAI and IMT also shortlist the applicants on the basis of CAT.
CAT
tests the skills of candidates in five broad areas i.e., verbal ability and
reasoning, reading comprehension, quantitative skills, data interpretation, and
analytical and logical reasoning. The duration of the test is of 120 minutes.
The number of questions asked in Common Admission Test vary every year and a
typical CAT question paper can have anywhere between 75 and 150 questions.

MAT :
The
All India Management Association (AIMA), is the apex body or development of
management in India. Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a National Entrance Test
for admission to MBA and equivalent programmes which is usually conducted 4
times in a year in February, May, September and December every year. MAT is an objective type test with multiple
– choice answers with 200 questions to be completed in 150 minutes or two and a
half hours. The test usually divided into five section, each with 40 questions,
designed to measure a person’s (i) English Language comprehension in 30 minutes
(ii) Mathematical Skills in 40 minutes (iii) Data analysis and Sufficiency
skills in 35 minutes (iv) Intelligence and Critical Reasoning skills in 30
minutes and (v) Awareness of the Indian and global environment in 15 minutes.
The time allowance varies for each section.

Conducted
by: Xavier Labour Research Institute,
Jamshedpur (XLRI) . XAT is a National level Admission Test to select the
most appropriate students for its management education. There are 35 other
Management Institutes who are selecting students from XAT . XAT usually has three sections assessing
Verbal Ability, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation & Logical
Ability to be completed in two hours. This is followed by and essay of 20
minutes duration.

IGNOU
OPENMAT is conducted by IGNOU twice a year for admissions to MBA Programs
through Distance Learning for the following Degree/ Diploma Programme in
Management:

Delhi University FMS admission test has questions to assess Quantitative
Ability, Verbal Ability and Language Comprehension, Analytical Ability and
awareness and comprehension of the micro and macro – environment of the
business and economy. FMS conducts Two-year Programme &
MBA (Management of Services) Two-Year Full-Time Programme . Candidates applying
for admission to the two-year MBA (FT) & MBA (MS) (FT) programmes must have
pursued at least a-year Bachelor's Degree programme after 12 years of formal
schooling. .

IBSAT :
The
Common Aptitude Test for the Programs of ICFAI Business School (IBS) namely the
2-year MBA Program at all campuses and the 1-year Executive PG Program at
Hyderabad.
The
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade conducts entrance exam for admission in their
MBA course. The admission test is a
multiple choice objective type written test (in English). The MBA (IB) is a six-trimester general
management programme with a focus on international business.

conducts State Level Entrance Test for admission to MBA :
ELIGIBILITY
The
minimum qualification for admission to MBA/MMA/MHA/AICTE approved PG Diploma
programmes is a Bachelors degree in Arts/ Science/ Commerce/ Engineering/
Technology/Medical/Dental/Agriculture or other professional courses from
recognized universities. The candidates who will appear in final examination
(Graduation) to be held in the year of the entrance test & results
published by September that year may also apply.

to be submitted to the University office with requisite fees in the form of a Demand

National Eligibility Test (NET) - The joint CSIR-UGC test for Junior Research
Fellowship & Eligibility for Lecturership:
CSIR conducts this test for determining the
eligibility for the award of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) NET and for
determining eligibility for appointment of Lecturers (NET) in certain subject
areas falling under the faculty of Science. The
award of Junior Research Fellowship (NET) to the successful eligible candidates
will depend on their finding admission/placement in a University/national
laboratory/institution of higher learning and research, as applicable. The test
